Growing need for foster parents ahead of the new school year in West Virginia

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — While going back to school is an exciting time for students, it may also be frightening and uncertain for others, especially those who are in foster care.

According to West Virginia Department of Heath & Human Resources 6,597 West Virginia children are currently in foster care with nearly 30% being the ages of 13-17.
